24/7 emergency

Emergency plumber in Morley

If water’s coming in and you need somebody now, stop reading and ring. The phone gets answered at three in the morning the same as three in the afternoon.

Before we get there

Three things to do right now

Most of the damage happens in the first twenty minutes. Ring first, then work through these.

01

Water off

Stopcock clockwise until it stops. Kitchen cupboard first, cellar head second — a lot of terraces here hide it down there. If it’s stiff, stop turning. Old brass snaps.

02

Isolate the culprit

One thing leaking? The pipe feeding it usually has a small valve with a screw slot. A quarter turn stops that item and leaves the rest of the house running.

03

Protect what’s below

Water runs downhill and sideways. Move what matters, bucket under the drip, and kill any circuit it’s heading towards.

Right now is the worst possible time for it.

24 hours a day, seven days a week, across Morley, Churwell and the Ardsleys.

Had a great experience and would 100% recommend! We had a leak in our washer and a previous leak under the bathroom sink. The team was able to address both issues and also caught a small leak in our washer hose that could have caused problems later. You can tell they put a lot of honesty and care into their work. We’ve had our fair share of bad plumber experiences, but with them, we really appreciated how we were shown the root of each problem and kept informed throughout. They also made sure to test everything multiple times to ensure the issues were fully resolved.

FAQs

Emergency questions

Is this an emergency or can it wait?

If water is escaping and you cannot stop it, ring now. If it’s isolated and nothing is being damaged, morning is usually fine and cheaper. No heating in freezing weather with young children or an elderly relative in the house counts as now. Ring either way and we’ll say honestly which it is.

Who picks up at 3am?

One of us. Not a call handler taking a message and not an overflow line in another county. Somebody who can talk you through the stopcock while another of us gets the van out.

Where’s the stopcock in an old terrace?

Kitchen sink cupboard first. A lot of the stone terraces here have it in the cellar head instead, which catches people out because they never go down there. Occasionally it’s outside under a small metal cover in the path.

It won’t turn. What now?

Stop. Old brass snaps, and a snapped stopcock turns a leak into a flood you cannot control at all. Ring and tell us it’s seized — it changes how quickly we need to get there and what we bring.

There’s water in the cellar. Is that the supply?

It might be. A leaking supply pipe under the front of the house often shows up in the cellar first, and so does a failed stopcock. Either way it will not improve on its own, and the meter will tell us a lot before we even lift anything.

Will it cost more at night?

You get the price before anybody picks up a tool and it doesn’t get revised once the water stops. Being stuck at 4am shouldn’t cost extra.
